Injector Remanufacturing

If you are not sure regarding the operating performance of your injectors we offer a service whereby we conduct full injector performance testing involving electronic solenoid testing and Fuel contamination testing. The results are provided in report as to what repairs are necessary to bring your injector back to optimum performance. We can offer a repair service where we only change out the worn internal injector parts and performance test. Alternatively, we can offer a full Remanufacturing Service where all the internal parts are changed irrespective of condition and then the injector is fully calibrated and performance tested on state of the art test equipment. All our Remanufactured injectors are supplied with calibration test certificates.

Repair and remanufacturing is an alternative to replacement with new Injectors, particularly when the engine is many years old and replacement or original parts are not always readily available.

Common causes of Injector Failure

There are numerous reasons for premature injector failure, the most likely cause is fuel contamination. Fuel contamination occurs when debris in the fuel gets past the filtration, destroying the sealing surfaces. Any debris passing through acts like sandpaper and wears down a groove in key sealing surfaces until they no longer function properly.

The second most common issue is water in the fuel. Water causes metal corrosion. This can either cause debris in the system or close the micron level clearance between parts, leading to sticking.

The final main issue is incorrect installations. Missing sealing rings, improper tightening torque cause performance issues, misfiring, black smoke.

Other symptoms for failing Injectors:

  • Rough Idle – idling noise changes or becomes ‘rough’. Usually caused by clogged Injectors.
  • Engine Stalling – usually caused by a blocked blocked nozzle or fuel leakage.
  • Poor Fuel Economy – not enough fuel is injected into the piston combustion bowl and starving the engine.
  • Fuel Leak – usually where the Injector Pipe meets the Injector.

Mechanical Fuel Injection Pump Remanufacturing

We are able to offer an extensive range of units leaving few applications where we cannot offer service, repair or remanufacturing where service exchange is not possible. We remanufacture Injection Pumps to OE specification. Pumps range from old Rotary and Inline pumps right through to the very latest in Common Rail.

Common causes of Injecting Pump Failure

The two most common causes of Fuel Injection Pump failure is fuel contamination and mechanical problems in the physical fuel injector housing. Over time, residue builds up throughout your system causing mechanical wear of individual components. Contamination usually occurs from rust, debris, and dirt entering the fuel tank and then fed towards or through the Fuel Filter and on to the Fuel Injection Pump. Friction buildup within the Pump causes wear to the moving parts resulting in problems such as insufficient fuel injection pressure and reduced fuel supply to the Injectors leading to poor combustion quality within the engine.

Other symptoms for failing Fuel Injection Pumps:

  • Sputters at high speeds.
  • Decreased fuel pressure.
  • Power loss whilst engine is under stress.
  • Engine surging while acceleration is not engaged.
  • Engine will not start.
